We are currently experiencing an issue with the WM Jobs website whereby application forms are not opening when the apply link is clicked and attachments on job adverts are not downloading. This has been raised as an All Parties System Down incident.
We have been advised this morning that the likely cause of this is a data centre power outage which occurred last night and has invoked a major incident process. Engineers have attended the site to investigate the power failure and a fix has been implemented and is currently being fully tested and we now await a further update on this testing.
For any jobs which were due to close last night (31/05/2020, you may wish to consider extending the closing date and, as an interim measure, you may also wish to consider offline applications.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Following our update earlier this morning regarding online application and attachment unavailability, we have been advised by our technical provider that engineering teams are continuing to work through the restoration of the service and that this will be progressing throughout the morning and into the afternoon. As such, we have been given a window of between 4-6 hours until service is fully restored. Unfortunately, the impact of this could mean that the unavailability of the feed continues for the remainder of this time.
Further testing by the WMJobs team indicates that in addition to job applications and attachments, the ability to post jobs may also be affected.
For any jobs which were due to close last night (31/05/2020) or are are scheduled to close today (01/06/2020), you may wish to consider extending the closing date and, as an interim measure, you may also wish to consider offline applications.
We will keep you updated as the situation progresses.
As a follow up on our previous communication, following the power outage to the data centre, the technical engineers are continuing to work this afternoon. They are currently working to bring all storage back online and will then begin the process to power on the servers. Until these servers are back up and running our feed will remain unavailable.
In our last communication we provided a time window of 4-6 hours. The engineers have since advised that this may be at risk, so there is a chance that the feed could be unavailable for the remainder of the working day. Rest assured we are working with our technical team to have the issue resolved as soon as possible.
We would like to thank you for your patience whilst the issue is being addressed. Again we apologise for the inconvenience this is causing to your service and hope to see it fully back up and running as soon as possible.
We will continue to keep you updated as the situation progresses.
We have received an update from our technical provider this morning to advise that the platform was restored overnight. Testing and monitoring continues this morning to ensure that all services are back up and running.
Initial testing indicates candidates are able to apply and attachments are available to view. We are aware of jobs posting through overnight however we are currently liaising with our technical support to test the regular job feed.
Should you notice any abnormal behaviour, please inform the WMJobs Team via the Service Centre.
Thank you for your patience and once again, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.
